This is a classic theme song...it can apply to where I'm from, because I'm from Camden, NJ, close to Philly, where Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff recorded this tune at Philadelphia International Records. It also became the Philadelphia Eagles' song when they went to the NFC Championship game. And because I'm Black and I'm proud, well, that's self-explanatory! But this cover version is by my band, Diva Express, some of the baddest chicks on the East Coast! Michelle Wolf, guitarist, is singing lead here. I am playing keys and singing background vocals.
