Hey...The time is NOW, y'all. Tomorrow is not promised. "Whatever you wanna do," as Isaac Hayes said, "you gotta DO YOUR THING!" Procrastination has been a major problem for me all my life. A boon to my existence. You have to reach a point where you have to say, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Get it DONE! I have seen all these legendary musicians and artists pass on, leaving legacies that are phenomenal behind...This past year, 2010 alone, we lost greats like Saxophonist James Moody, Vocalist/Musician Teena Marie, Pianist/Composer/Educator/Broadcaster Dr. Billy Taylor...the list goes on and on. I saw Dr. Taylor ONCE, and he was STILL incredible even after suffering two strokes recently...this was a couple years ago. I NEVER saw Teena or James Moody live, and I so badly wish I had... What legacy will I leave when I'm gone? There is so much I want to accomplish in my lifetime, writing books, writing and producing music, performing all over the world, traveling for pleasure, exploring my hobbies, working with phenomenal people that do the same thing I do, or can complement what I do, or can contribute to something I do...and most of all, sharing this life with the ones I love most. In a recent biography of Ray Charles broadcast on television, Susaye Green, one of the Raelettes, said that "Ray lived to the last second..." I guess that sums it up right there. I'm going to do my best to do just that. What will YOU do to live to the last second? MAKE SURE THAT EVERY SECOND COUNTS.
